A brief history of the Chicago & North Western Iowa Division mainline, now part of the Overland Route:

06/26/21

Crossing over West Indian Creek behind a neighborhood in Nevada is this massive stone arch.
It was originally built in 1890, and widened in 1899 due to an imminent double tracking project. Along the Chicago-Omaha route, this is believed to be the largest single span stone arch.
The bridge remains intact with virtually no significant alterations. The addition to a concrete barrier and some minor patch work are the only observable modifications.

The author has ranked the bridge as being moderately significant, due to the size of the arch.
